clean, lightweight vacuum for your lab.
No oil to change or aspirator
water to dispose of.
More consistent results than unreliable house vac systems.
| LABOPORT® pumps
keep your lab up and running!
Never again be delayed by expensive off-site pump repairs. With
LABOPORT®, theres no need to
worry about corrosive condensate damaging valve parts
and degrading performance. Click on the testimonial tab
to hear it straight from our customers; KNF pumps are tough, have a loyal following
and last longer than other brands.
KNF Invented the Molded
Diaphragm to Handle Aggressive Vapors
engineers took the older, traditional flat diaphragm (shown at left) with
its middle hole and bulky metal clamping disk, and created a smooth,
Exclusive Structured Diaphragm for
Long Life and High Efficiency
Without a metal clamping
disk in the wetted area, we avoid leaks and corrosion. The diaphragm surface fits closer to the top of the
pump chamber, improving
vacuum performance. The connecting
stud is securely molded into the diaphragm.
Next, using finite element analysis, we created a ribbed structure
into the underside to control the flexing of the diaphragm. As a result, diaphragm
life and efficiency are increased, and resulted in a significant reduction in
of PTFE Resin for Durability
KNF builds their lab pumps with premium PTFE and FFPM resins
for the ultimate protection against aggressive vapors. KNF pioneered
the use of PTFE in laboratory pumps in 1980.
This material is now used in all LABOPORT® pumps.
Valve System Tolerates Condensates
new valve design is a
patented breakthrough of KNFs worldwide R&D center in Munzingen,
Germany. One-piece construction prevents excessive movement, reducing pneumatic
noise. The valve disk, made of FFPM resin,
spans several smaller holes instead of one large hole. It withstands the punishment created by pumping liquid
Other, less efficient flapper-type valves (left side) are easily
deformed by liquids; necessitating inconvenient delays and equipment
Compatible with ALL
brands of rotary evaporators
Consider a KNF LABOPORT® pump for quiet, reliable
operation without the messy handling of pump oil or the expense
of water aspirators. They are the perfect replacement for rotary
vane pumps in applications where a variety of corrosive vapors
may be encountered. And they will require less maintenance than any other brand
in your lab, resulting in less downtime, and fewer disruptions in your day.
LABOPORT® pumps are the perfect
companion for any brand of rotary evaporator.

Aggressive, Saturated Vapors
Vacuum Pumps for Saturated Vapors
Use with gel dryers, vacuum ovens, vacuum concentrators and even
Because insufficient air flow cannot push liquids thru the pump, vapors condense and accumulate within a vacuum pump's heads. This reduces pump efficiency and extends process time.
How it works: The timed Powerdry® valve
meters a burst of ambient air into the pump. This sudden flow of air expels liquids out of the pump
heads, immediately restoring efficiency. Your vacuum
levels are unaffected.
Unlike other self-cleaning pumps that cycle at the end of
the vacuum process, PowerDry® operates throughout the process,
when you need it most.

How it works
Fig. A. Condensate (blue) accumulates within a
pump head. Fig. B. PowerDry® cycles, and a valve
admits a burst of air into the pump’s first
stage. The high pressure ratio instanty closes the pump’s inlet
valve, preserving your vessel’s
vacuum level. The purge air expels liquid through the pump, leaving it clean and dry. Connect a container to the exhaust port to collect
NOTES: Standard continuous performance
ratings listed on this KNF website and on KNF datasheets are
based on technical data and test results of nominal units at
sea level, measured with an ambient temperature of 70°F
(21°C), and nominal
electrical supply as listed above, and are for reference only.Multiple-head
models, different performance models, cost-effective OEM modifications, and
a variety of motor options and different materials of construction are also
available. Certified drawings are available upon request. Specifications subject
to change without notice. You should always check corrosion resistance charts
for compatibility with the medium you intend to pump.
